Hi everyone, it’s me, Harriett
Best. News. EVER!!
Father Christmas turned up in person at Grandma & Poppy’s place on Christmas Day. Can you believe it. I could hardly believe my eyes. There we all were just having some lunch and playing and stuff. At first I thought I was just dreaming, but nope – there he was as large as life. He was giving out presents and everything.
And that’s not all. Uncle Mike from London was at Grandma’s when we turned up. Just like that, there he was. I was so excited to see Uncle Mike I just about did wees on Grandma’s carpet. Mum screamed and cried all at the same time when she saw Uncle Mike, and she jumped up and down on the spot. She was crying but had laughing eyes so I knew it was a good cry that she was doing. She hugged him for so long, me and Hugo had to wait ages for our turn. It was so much fun seeing him.
But poor old Uncle Mike missed out on seeing Father Christmas. I tried to find him when Father Christmas turned up, but couldn’t see him anywhere. Then just as Father Christmas left, Uncle Mike came walking up from the chook house. “Did you see Father Christmas?” I asked him – he was so busy feeding the chooks that he missed out. He said he wasn’t too sad about that ‘cause he saw Father Christmas in London before he left. That was lucky.
And my new cousin was there too – her name is Olive. She is Uncle Patty and Aunty Karen’s new baby. But her eyes still weren’t open, so she was no good to play with. She’s really cute though.
And I have a new Aunty. Her name is Daisy. She’s Grandma and Poppy’s new puppy. She’s a little bit nutty, and keeps wanting to play with me and Hugo, we played with her for a wee while, then she fell asleep. Just like that, in the middle of the lawn – just dropped down asleep. Thank goodness for that, she has way too much energy.
I think with Uncle Mike and Father Christmas, and Olive and Aunt Daisy, that this might have been the best Christmas I’ve ever had. Mum loved her box of hugs, she said it was the most thoughtful present anyone has ever given her. And that’s saying something, ‘cause when Dad gives her a Louis Vuitton handbag I know he’s thought about that a lot. Especially when he’s paying for it.
Here’s two photos this time. One of Father Christmas getting ready to give out the pressies, and the other one is me & Hugo with Uncle Mike. He’s gone back to London now so I’m going to get Mum to print the photo on her Instax printer so I can keep it by my bed.
I’ve gotta go now, Heyrex keeps sending Mum emails about all the scratching we’re doing – this is the worst year for fleas I have ever had. So we’re off to buy some more flea stuff. Buying flea stuff is my favourite thing.
Lots of licky lick kisses
